Who is Pedal Point Solutions?
Pedal Point Solutions helps you learn, practice, and experience digital accessibilty.
In music, a pedal point is a sustained or repeated note that serves as an anchor for other tones in a song. It evokes feelings of stability, energy, and forward momentum as other notes dance about forming melody lines and chords. The pedal point is used in all genres of music, with iconic examples like the opening of Van Halen’s “Jump,” “Mars” from The Planets by classical composer Gustav Holst, and the chorus of “I’m Blue” by Eiffel 65.
We believe that accessibility is the pedal point of the web, Being accessible means that every design and development choice is informed by the steady premise that everyone can take full advantage of a website’s features, regardless of disability. When we build online experiences around principles of accessibility, we make the web a better place for everybody.
At Pedal Point Solutions, we are working toward a digital world built on accessibility where everyone thrives.
Our Core Values
Equity
We believe that everyone should be able to fully experience the web. People of all abilities should have equal access to the resources and opportunities available in our digital world. Individuals with disabilities should be deeply involved in the creation of websites and software tools they use.
Empathy
We believe the best way to practice and promote web accessibility is to foster understanding of how people with disabilities use the web. When someone “gets” how a person with a visual, hearing, mobility, or neurological impairment interacts with a website, it can be life-changing. People come away from these eureka moments with motivation and energy to make the web a better place for everyone.
Agility
We believe web accessibility is most effective as an iterative and ongoing practice that involves everyone in the organization. Continuous collaboration with frequent deliverables leads to constant measurable progress while fostering motivation and satisfaction among team members and end-users.
Community
We believe digital accessibility can be an approachable and unifying endeavor to which everyone contributes. As we learn together and share knowledge, we become more adept at making the web better for everybody.
